Jan 24, 2017 · i have 1986 mercury black max xr2 150 on my fishing boat. when the motor is cold i have fire on 1,2, but no fire on 3,4,5,6.take a blow dryer and warm motor up some and u will get fire on 3,4,5,6 and motor will start,and as long as u keep the motor warm by starting every so often the motor will start and run great.if u let motor get cold and no fire on 3,4,5,6 and motor will not start. . Like laddies said, a lot of the time, the bad switch box (murkurese for power pack) is the one that fires, killing the other one through the bias circuit.
