Been using Bimmerlink for some time and while its a great app for live monitoring of sensor data, the time intervals at which it records during data logging causes the data log to be unusable. I've yet to see an option to change it. Also, i've seen phantom 'Knock' recorded on several occasions. For everything else it can do, still a great app.The Bimmercode app will not “register” a new battery (unless the software has changed in the last 5 minutes). Bimmercode will allow you to CODE a new battery when the type (AGM or wet) or specs of the replacement battery is changed. The Bimmerlink app is what you use to register a new battery. The info is right there on their websites.

I have had periods of time when it would not connect with BimmerCode, but would connect with BimmerLink and a few other apps I have to interface with my car. I have no idea why BimmerCode does this from time to time, especially when BimmerLink (made by the same developer) connects every time. In addition to the software mentioned above, I'd suggest looking at Protool by bimmergeeks as well. It's pretty easy to get started with diagnosing and coding using Protool. Although I haven't done any coding with it yet.
